(ITA) Shane Sutton è un artista appassionato di tecnologia creativa, nonché regista con una vasta gamma di competenze in pre e post produzione, quali animazione, editing e fotografia. È anche un pluripremiato regista di documentari: ha ottenuto 6 riconoscimenti ai festival internazionali del cinema e una nomination all’Irish Film and Television Academy per il miglior montaggio nel 2009.
I suoi murales raffigurano solitamente scene urbane e sono il frutto di uno studio di luci e riflessi; nelle sue opere di street art di solito rappresenta grandi astronauti senza volto per narrare “quello spazio in mezzo”, ovvero il momento che vivi dopo che te ne vai ma prima di arrivare a destinazione. Vincitore di un concorso di arte di strada con l’Agenzia spaziale europea all’Aia, ha firmato il suo lavoro in assenza di gravità sul volo Zero-G nel 2019.
Lo stesso anno Shane dipinse il suo secondo Spacer per Waterford Walls, dedicato al 50° anniversario dello storico sbarco sulla Luna.
Un piccolo passo per l’uomo, un grande passo per l’umanità. Considerata la “più grande trasmissione singola nella storia della televisione”, lo sbarco sulla Luna ha cambiato il mondo attraverso il mezzo televisivo, concetto che Shane ha voluto sottolineare nel suo murales.

(ENG) Shane Sutton is an artist and keen creative technology enthusiast and filmmaker with a wide range of skills in pre and post production that includes animation, editing and photography. He is also an award winning documentary film director with 6 international film festival awards and an Irish Film and Television Academy’s nomination for best editing in 2009.
His murals are typically of urban scenes and a study of lights and reflections and street art usually incorporates large, faceless astronauts with a narrative of ‘That Space in Between’. The title describing the moment you experience after you leave but before you get there. A recent winner at a street art competition with the European Space Agency in the Hague he signed his work in weightlessness on Zero-G flight in 2019.
The same year Shane painted his second Spacer for Waterford Walls, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the historic moon landing.
One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. Considered as the “greatest single broadcast in television history” the moon landing changed the world through the medium of television, something that Shane made sure to reference in his mural.
